This training will be conducted in English, though anyone can contact us with inquiries in Japanese. This is primarily for teachers, but parents and anyone else who wants to learn about Jolly Phonics is welcome.
Contents of the Workshop
– The historical teaching methods of reading and writing
– What is systematic phonics/Jolly Phonics
– The basic 42 sounds and the Jolly Phonics actions
– The relationship between letters and sounds
– The 5 basic skills of Jolly Phonics
– How to teach a Jolly Phonics lesson
– Activity ideas for practicing with students and at home
– Transferring from reading letters, words and sentences to reading short readers

This training will be given in both English and Japanese Languages.

Two day Jolly Phonics Training! You will learn the difference between the English and Japanese sounds, the five basic skills and 42 letter sounds on the first day. On the second day, you will be learning how to teach the alternative spellings and tricky words in the morning, and will do a micro teaching session in the afternoon. You will also learn how to support the children with Dyslexia as well.
