Jolly Phonics & Grammar 1&2 Training Weekend

Venue: To be held at Colegio María Nebrera, Granada.

These courses based on the first three years of the Jolly Phonics programme and are aimed at anyone wishing to introduce reading and writing skills to young learners though the use of a synthetic phonics programme.

Using a multi-sensory approach to teaching, this course will also focus on comprehension skills for ESL learners and with many simple, practical ideas and activities, this course is an excellent resource for any teacher in any educational setting.

SPECIAL EVENT Jolly Phonics and Grammar 1 & 2 Weekend Experience

Date: Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November, 2017
Saturday Time: 9:30am – 2:30pm
Saturday Time: 10am – 2pm
Venue: Academy I.A.G – Armilla – Granada

Two days of Jolly fun and teacher training!

During the first part of the course we provide and introduction to synthetic phonics based on the methods of Jolly Phonics and you will receive advice on how to implement the five principle methods. Full workshop and class planning exercises for the year ahead.

On Saturday we continue with an introduction to Grammar levels 1 & 2, which includes what The Grammar Handbooks cover in each year and weekly lesson plans. The course also offers a wide variety of adaptable and fun activities, games and idea that can be used on a daily basis in any classroom setting.

We will be looking at how a multi-sensory approach can reinforce literacy and comprehension skills, especially with ESL learners.

Music is one of the most powerful tools available to us, benefitting and stimulating all aspects of child development. Exposing young children to music at the earlier stages promotes: language learning development (ESL included), vocabulary and punctuation skills, social and emotional well being, culture awareness, creativity, fine and gross motor skills, confidence and memory skills.

This fun, practical-based training course demonstrate the fundamental use of simple songs, rhymes, games and creative activities that are introduced and implemented throughout the year. Suitable for teachers, parents and language schools in any educational setting, especially those wishing to teach or compliment the instruction of English as a second language.

Jolly Toddlers – A Prelude to Jolly Phonics

Date: Saturday 4th November, 2017
Time: 10.00 to 14:00
Venue: Edificio Inter, Calle Rodríguez San Pedro 2, 28015 Madrid. Nearest Metro Stop: San Bernardo

Through the use of topics, language play, songs, art and role-play, it is possible for Very Young Learners to become aware of how sounds are linked to letters and words, creating positive reading and writing experiences form the earliest stages in preschool. Exposure to the English language using a natural and fun approach also helps to develop and reinforce skills such as pronunciation, vocabulary, language comprehension and acquisition essential for ESL-learners.

This course has been specifically designed for nursery and preschool teachers of English, and to precede the Jolly Phonics programme. Everyone is welcome and no background knowledge or experience is required.

Description of the most important aspects of the Jolly Phonics Method. The two-sessions course will be based on the first three years of the Jolly Phonics programme. The main aim of the course is to show how to work on reading and writing skills with our youngest students in our schools through a methodology that is mainly synthetic.
