Mary Ashby-Green, former Principal, DP and Literacy Leader at Don Buck Primary School, has been leading seminars in Jolly Phonics since 1996 and has trained nearly 3000 teachers. In October 2006 she co-presented seminars with Sue Lloyd in the UK and Dubai. She now runs her own education consultancy, Break Free Results Ltd. She has been joined by former AP Elizabeth Thomas, and they provide training seminars on Jolly Phonics for the classroom, and tutoring for children with special literacy needs. She is also the Education Leader in a trust providing educational support in Namibia through Jolly Phonics teacher training.
Tracy Watkin is a UK trained teacher with 18 years experience. Tracy began using Jolly Phonics in Romania and Cambodia and is now using it with new entrants in Nelson. She has been hugely impressed by the power of Jolly Phonics to create confident readers and writers with a secure grounding of basic skills on which to build. She will be passing on her knowledge and experience through training sessions for teachers and parents and is also happy to pass on advice by phone or email.
I have been teaching since 1999 in locations around the world. These include Kuwait, Qatar, New Zealand, and most recently Saudi Arabia. The last six years I spent as Head of Primary in a highly reputed International School. I have extensive experience in developing literacy skills with both first and second language learners. Over the years I have found Jolly Phonics to be the most comprehensive and effective system for developing the language acquisition process. Throughout my career training teachers has been one of my greatest pleasures, as has leading seminars with parents to develop literacy.
