Jolly Learning Training in Nigeria

Dr. (Mrs) Tina Udoji is the person that brought Jolly Phonics into Nigeria for the very first time in 1999. She is the first accredited Jolly Phonics International trainer in Nigeria. Tina is a trained teacher with many years of classroom experience. She is a British Council certified Education professional in British education with a First degree in Education, a Masters in Early Childhood Education, an international Diploma in Montessori Method of Education and a PhD in Early Childhood Education. Tina has given Jolly Phonics and Grammar trainings since 2002 to thousands of teachers and educators throughout Nigeria.

Stella Nnenna Uzu

Stella Uzu is a passionate teacher and the Administrator of Excellent Montessori Schools in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, where she teaches and successfully introduced and uses Jolly Phonics, Jolly Music and Jolly Grammar to teach, and the success recorded is outstanding. A UK certified Child Psychologist and Child Care Giver and Early Childhood teacher, Stella has successfully delivered pilot trainings using Jolly Phonics for public school teachers in Benue, Nasarawa, Cross Rivers, Kaduna,  Ebonyi and Zamfara States. She is a lead trainer in the on going training for public school teachers in Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Ekiti States. She also works with special needs children helping them learn using Jolly Songs and Jolly Phonics.

Kemi Adebajo

Kemi Adebajo is the Country representative and accredited trainer for Jolly Phoincs. She has a BA in Engish from the University of Ibadan, Diploma in Montessori from the Mondern School of Montessori UK and a PGDE from the University of Lagos. Kemi now owns and runs Layton Preparatory School, Lagos. She taught at St Saviour’s School Ikoyi for 12 years and has over a decade and a half teaching experience. She has a passion for teaching, and impacting lives. She has trained teachers in well over 100 private schools in Nigeria from 2005 to date. In addition she has carried out trainings and trials in several states in Nigeria. She has a team of trainers which she mentors closely.

Olubusola Eshiet

Dr Olubusola Eshiet has facilitated training in Jolly Phonics, Jolly Phonics Extra and Jolly Grammar for several thousand teachers in Nigeria and some in Ghana. Her training and mentoring have helped teachers move from enduring English Language teaching to enjoying the subject. She continues to research the use of Jolly Phonics and is the research leader for Jolly Phonics Extra. She shares the results of her research at local and international conferences. Busola supports government bodies, teachers, and schools through Optimalpath Consulting Limited, her business based in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the North East of England.

Dr. Stella N Nwosu

Stella-NwosuStella is a teacher and teacher trainer with over twenty years of experience in school teaching. She has a PhD in Educational Technology and is currently lecturing at the University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. She is a key member of the University of Uyo Jolly Phonics Research and Implementation Team, researching on and helping to spread the Jolly Phonics programme across the country. She manages Jolly Phonics projects and is experienced in the implementation of the Jolly Phonics programme in public and private schools. She has trained numerous teachers, government officials and academics across Nigeria. She has also led a Grammar pilot study in Akwa Ibom State.

Prekebena Eric Oyin

Olufunmi Bankole

Lagos

Olufunmi is a seasoned educator who has a passion for helping children develop reading skills as early as possible. She has achieved great results teaching primary level pupils to read and write using Jolly Phonics. In addition, she has trained many teachers in the Jolly Phonics method. Many of these teachers have since become ‘Jolly Phonics Ambassadors’ and spread the Jolly word and advocate the Jolly Phonics programme to use in schools.

Olufunmi has delivered and managed Jolly Phonics pilot projects, leading to full adoption in four states! She has managed large scale training and mentoring of teachers in government and private primary schools in South West Nigeria.

Olusola Kemi Oladapo-Tonade

Abeokuta, Ogun State

Kemi is an Early Years specialist and experienced school administrator. She has seen many children develop reading sills in early life, because of her teaching them in the synthetic phonic method and using Jolly Phonics. Kemi also provides remedial teaching for children of varying ages who have reading challenges, and finds Jolly Phonics has an encouraging impact for these children. This is the reason she has become a Jolly Trainer, to enable her to share her positive experiences with as many teachers as possible.

Chiemeziem Phina

Lagos

Phina is a school teacher with over ten years of teaching experience, with a B.Sc. (Ed.) in Education Chemistry. She has a passion for promoting literacy in young children as a result of which, she organises various educational programmes for children and uses the Jolly Phonics method to teach children to read and write.

Esther Bose Ikhalume

Esther’s passion to see her pupils read and write led her to constantly research best methods to use in teaching reading to beginners. Her search came to a resting point when she discovered Jolly Phonics. This method was so effective she decided that this find was not just for herself, but one that must be shared with as many teachers and educators as possible! Since then, Esther has trained hundreds of teachers and continues to teach children and adults using Jolly Phonics in both public and private schools. In addition, she has also helped struggling readers become successful using the Jolly Phonics Extra Kit with the intervention Jolly Buddies so is keen to extend her itinerary to other African countries.

Ibiere Ken-Maduako

Port Harcourt, Rivers State

Ibiere holds a B.A (Ed) degree in English, an M.A in both English and Linguistics, along with a Ph.D in Linguistics and has always been passionate about raising the level of achievement for language acquisition.

Ibiere began teaching with Jolly Phonics in 2010, but was first introduced to the methods in 2009. After she researched and studied Jolly Phonics, Ibiere has seen a great deal of change in her classes. The results in teaching with Jolly Phonics have been enormous, as the children read better and the teachers are happier and sufficiently motivated to teach.

Ibiere can provide services in worldwide teacher training, assistance in implementing Jolly Phonics curriculum in schools and support for struggling readers.

Kesiena Adeniyi

Teaching nursery classes began out of curiosity for Kesiena but very soon became her passion! Since receiving Jolly Phonics training in 2012, she experienced a transformation in her teaching of reading and writing to Nursery 2 pupils. Kesiena then continued to use Jolly Phonics as her method of teaching English for the next 3 years, achieving tremendous results in pupil’s reading, writing and speaking. She is very passionate about teaching early literacy using Jolly Phonics and has been passing this passion to hundreds of teachers, whom she now mentors.

Kesiena is available to share her Jolly Phonics skills with teachers in Nigeria and internationally.

Nwankwere Amarachi Nneamaka

Bonny Island, Rivers State

Amarachi is a specialist Jolly Phonics teacher in a Nursery and Primary School, where she daily teaches Nursery and early primary classes. Before this position, Amara had been introduced to and taught Jolly Phonics at an after-school activity centre for 4 years. Her time was spent teaching both children and adults to learn to read using the programme.

Due to her success in helping such people read, Amara now specialises as an early years Jolly Phonics teacher. Her pupils enjoy their English lessons and are proud of her achievements, her colleagues want to know her secret and Amara is a valued staff member.
